Entrepreneur Business Basics (EBB) was founded in Kansas City in May 2014 by Founder and CEO, Kira Cheree’. Seeing a gap in support for minority startups, EBB creates training and programming to specifically serve them as they launch, grow and sustain their businesses. Through our board-certified and fully accredited entrepreneurship program, JUMP©, EBB hosts 12-week cohorts for adult learners. Our fully automated training platform allows for synchronous and asynchronous options.

Get easier access to capital for your business. Enjoy flexible funding and access to learning and networking opportunities. Our lending program, currently available within BMO Harris branches in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin, allows Black and Latinx owned businesses to get the financial support needed to succeed.

Backing Black Business Grant Program

Backing Black Business is a project of Reimagine Main Street and its network partners with support from Facebook/Meta. Backing Black Business will award Black women-owned businesses cash grants and other valuable resources.

SBA Restaurant Revitalization Fund

The American Rescue Plan Act established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) to provide funding to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open. This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023.

EDCKC LoanUp Revolving Loan Fund

The Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) assists small businesses with expansions to create and/or retain jobs in Kansas City, Missouri when conventional bank financing is not possible. 

Projects Eligible for Financing:

  • For-profit business
  • Not-for-debt refinance
  • Located within the City limits of Kansas City, Missouri

SBA Disaster Loan Assistance

The SBA offers disaster assistance in the form of low interest loans to businesses, nonprofit organizations, homeowners, and renters located in regions affected by declared disasters. SBA also provides eligible small businesses and nonprofit organizations with working capital to help overcome the economic injury of a declared disaster.
